Welcome to Brooke’s Music Studio

I am a NYC-based professional singer and teacher who offers lessons for students of all ages in-person in New York City, and online to students around the world. Seeing my students connect to their true voice and find breakthrough in singing is my passion! I enjoy seeing students express themselves through music and find their passion of singing. I teach to the specific needs of the vocal student primarily in musical theatre, pop, and classical voice styles. We will work on building healthy vocal technique and will work on the specific goals of the student, whether that be to build confidence, work towards an audition, or preparation for a performance.

Lessons will be tailored to meet the needs of the student. All levels and ages welcome!

Testimonials

"My 12yo daughter wanted help polishing her vocal skills for an audition. Not only did Ms. Brooke make her feel instantly comfortable, she helped my daughter switch between her chest and head voice (something she’s struggled with) and improve the quality and tone of her singing voice. She also sent some vocal exercises for my daughter to do on her own. Ms. Brooke is very quick to respond to parents and students. We’ll be booking more lessons!” -Amanda

“Lilly has learned so much from Miss Brooke for her upcoming audition in such a short time including vocal warm ups, where and how to fill her lungs before lengthier notes and where to hold notes longer! She is so sweet and Lilly wanted up to her quickly. We will definitely continue using Miss Brooke.” - Sunni

“Ms. Wahlstrom made music theory easy to understand and I got lots of practice with all the topics we covered in class. The final project was fun and challenging. I can't wait to take her next theory class!" - Frank

"My 11-year-old son loved this class and learned so much. He knew quite a bit of theory going into the class, but it was still very challenging for him. Great instructor for breaking down some tricky concepts in interesting ways. Highly recommend!" Haley P. Intermediate Music Theory

"My daughter has loved music theory with Ms. Brooke! She has taken two class series with her so far and plans to do more. Ms. Brooke makes music theory fun and engaging. My daughter just finished the intermediate class and had so much fun working on her end of class project! Highly recommend!" - Rhiannon Z.Intermediate Music Theory

"Excellent class, excellent teacher, would highly recommend. We used this class as a review for our 9 year old who had been off of piano lessons for a while but I think it would be great for beginners with no prior experience also!!" - Melinda W. Beginning Music Theory

"This was a terrific class, my son already had a good deal of theory under his belt and this class was a great next step. Ms. Brooke struck a good balance between review and new concepts every week. She was also very encouraging and positive with the kids. The class was serious but also warm and fun." - Nina W. Intermediate Music Theory

"Miss Brooke is a warm, inviting, and enthusiastic teacher. My kids liked her immediately and looked forward to their next class with her. The class is a perfect introduction to the basics of music theory. My kids, 5 and 7, don't play any instruments now, but it's great to know that when they get started learning an instrument, they will have already encountered the basics. They both are much more interested in learning to play something now that they've taken this class." - Megan A. ABC's of Music theory
